Resident Evil 7 trailer and extended demo

Posted on September 16, 2016

Horror game fans get excited, because even more exciting Resident Evil 7 information has been revealed – courtesy of Capcom’s blog. The blog mentions that “we’ve got a bunch of new information to share about Resident Evil 7 biohazard, including a new trailer, an update to the Beginning Hour demo, and more!”

Let’s begin with the new trailer, shall we? The video, which is being called “Tape 2 – The Bakers” is another ‘found footage’ style of video. Presumably, this means that the protagonist of the game will at some point discover and watch this footage rather than actually live through it themselves. The video continues to remain at appropriate levels of insanity and creepiness, much to my glee. We are also shown more of the disturbingly unsettling Baker family, the father being the antagonist from the Resident Evil 7 demo.

Perhaps more exciting though is the news that the Resident Evil 7 ‘Beginning Hour’ demo will be receiving an update. “With over three million people having downloaded the demo worldwide… a new Twilight version update for the demo is on the way, and will be available starting tomorrow, September 15th.” Previously the demo was only available to PlayStation Plus members but Capcom has also announced that “when the update goes live tomorrow, all PS4 owners will be able to download the demo and experience it for themselves.”

The game is set to release January 24, 2017.
