Minecraft is coming to Nintendo Switch soon

Nintendo has revealed that Minecraft for the Nintedo Switch will be available very shortly alongside a sale in the Switch Store on the 12/5/2017 (AEST).

The release of Minecraft for the Nintendo Switch was known to be happening in May, but no hard date was provided until yesterday when Nintendo advertised the game on their website.

Fans of the Nintendo Switch and Minecraft are in for a treat. Minecraft: Nintendo Switch Edition includes six content packs. Included in these packs is a bonus Super Mario Mash Up that contains:

  • 40 Super Mario‐themed skins
  • Super Mario World including Bowser’s Castle, Bowser’s ship, and Boo’s House
  • Many Mario inspired surprises to find and explore
  • Super Mario‐style textures, numerous Mario‐themed puzzles, dozens of character skins, and music from Super Mario 64 to enjoy

Take note that Gliding will not be apart of the game on launch but will be added to the game at a later date.

Nintendo have stated that the game can be played “alone or with up to 8 crafters together online, while 4 can join each other in local multiplayer on the TV or in tabletop mode, supporting both split screen and the Pro Controller.”
