Prince Noctis crashes the Tekken 7 fighting arena

Posted on November 14, 2017

Not content with just visiting the Assassin’s Creed world, Final Fantasy XV has now invaded the Tekken universe with Noctis Lucius Caelum stepping into the battle arena. Tekken has been known to include other playable fighters in their gaming rosters and has even gone so far as to create an entire Tekken X Street Fighter game. The inclusion of Noctis, while surprising, is certainly welcomed as he warps, slashes, and crushes his opponents in the reveal trailer.

Starting of with a plain mission request, we hear Noct casually talking to an unknown recipient and agreeing to come to their aid. After that his three companions Gladio, Prompto, and Ignis all volunteer to help out (have fun more like) but in the end it’s Noct who heads out, excited and ready to fight. From here we get to see Noctis take on several different opponents, using an array of  mid range weapons to overwhelm his challengers, as well as warping in for close range attacks that are hard to block. We also get to see him duke it out on his own Final Fantasy XV inspired stage, Hammerhead Garage. All the more reason to get excited!

It’s certainly been a while since I’ve played a Tekken game, with my fighting game repertoire pertaining to titles such as Super Smash Bros., Marvel vs Capcom, and Injustice 2, but I think it might be time to pick up Tekken 7 and brush up on my battle technique. Noctis will be available as a DLC player in Spring 2018 for Tekken 7, which currently is available for play on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
