Paladins is stepping in to the Battle Royale arena

Posted on January 5, 2018

There’s no denying that the Battle Royale genre of games is the next big thing. Popularised by PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG), the Battle Royale genre sees a large group of players fight it out to the death until 1 is left standing. The newest game to step into the realm of Battle Royale games is Paladins.

Announced earlier today, Paladins is set to receive an update that will bring about a new gamemode: Paladins Battlegrounds. The gamemode, as you’d expect, will see 100 players battling it out until only 1 is left alive. Hi-Rez Studios are calling the new gamemode “the first-ever hero-shooter battle royale.” Check out the announcement video below.

For those unaware, Paladins is a free-to-play Hero Shooter available on the PC, PS4 and Xbox One that has drawn a lot of similarities to Overwatch. Presumably, the Battle Royale mode of the game will also be a free experience. The new mode is set to release in 2018 but no official date has been revealed.
