Aussie indie darling Hollow Knight is finally getting a physical release

Posted on March 15, 2019

Hollow Knight was released back in 2017 for PS4, and PC digitally, with an eShop release following the following year on Nintendo Switch. Despite popular demand from fans has never received a physical release… that is, until now.

Fangamer has recently announced and opened up pre-orders for both the standard and collectors edition of Hollow Knight, which both look to be great additions to any game library.

Both editions will come with a physical copy of the game (on your choice of platform), a  instruction manual, and a fold-out map of Hallownest, which harkens back to the good old days of boxed games where you would look forward to studying the map of the game and reading through the manual for extra information and tips before playing.  Both editions will also include all previously released DLC: Hidden Dreams, The Grimm Troupe, Lifeblood, and Godmaster.

In addition to the manual, map and DLC, the collector’s edition also includes the following:

  • A metal brooch with a display stand, wall hook, and dual-pronged fastener.
  • A 14-page Quirrel comic book.
  • A special gift box case with gold-foil filigree and a clear printed sleeve.
  • Gold-foil art print set by Ari Gibson.
  • A physical copy of the game
  • Nintendo Switch copies of the Collector’s Edition include a bonus cleaning cloth (a nice little touch)

It is a good time to be a Hollow Knight fan as we were also recently treated to the announcement that a sequel is currently in the works, you can read more about it here.

You can pre-order the PS4, PC, or Switch versions through Fangamer, with the game expected to ship on 31st May 2019.
