After Nintendo decided to cease production on the surprisingly popular, yet unsurprisingly poorly stocked NES classic mini, we may finally have a solid reason why.
Sources close to Nintendo have revealed to Eurogamer that Nintendo discontinued the retro throwback in order to focus on bringing the SNES mini console to audiences.
The Super Nintendo is considered by many as one of the best consoles ever made, and included critically acclaimed games such as The Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past, Super Metroid, Super Mario Kart and Super Mario World, as well as Earthbound, Star Fox and Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars.
The console also had one of the best RPGs of the era, Square’s Chrono Trigger.
Nintendo have yet to release an official statement. But due to the success – and scarcity – of the NES mini, if the SNES Classic Mini is indeed confirmed, pre-order as soon as possible!
