MADiSON is serving you psychological horror and Polaroid cameras

While I don’t have it on hand I can almost guarantee somewhere out there is a Venn diagram of people who love instant photography, and people who love being mentally manipulated by demons. If you find yourself falling directly into this very exclusive team then perhaps the new psychological horror title MADiSON is your cup of tea, your dark bitter cup of tea.

Creators Alexis Di Stefano and Maximiliano Rasiun are both self admitted horror fans and that comes through in what we’ve seen so far. Starting its life as a project for his video game design course, Alexis quickly realised that MADiSON had a life beyond the confines of his study.

You’ll play as Luca, you have woken in a dark locked room with your hands covered in blood. Endure the brute torture of MADiSON, a demon that has forced Luca to continue a gory ritual started decades ago, making him commit abominable acts. Will you be able to finish this sinister ceremony?

Playing in first person the demo, that is already available, sees you taking advantage of your surroundings as you explore the dark hallways as something sinister is clearly just out of sight. Using an iconic Polaroid camera you’ll grab snaps of the world to uncover secrets, however just like the Polaroid camera I still have from when I was growing up, you’ll first need to take a moment to shake the snap to reveal the image, hopefully it really is just an empty hallway.

You can check out more from the team behind MADiSON on their official website, including the previously mentioned demo, developer diaries and more. The team also has a contributor campaign through Patreon and if you’re hoping to see more from MADiSON it is worth checking out.
