Fortnite takes on PUBG in the Twitch viewership arena

Posted on March 9, 2018

We all love to watch people play other games as they scream and yell or make random jokes…

The question then becomes, ‘What is the most watched game on Twitch?’

The answer is simple. According to many feeds, Fortnite has become the most watched game on Twitch with 183,000 viewers (at the time of writing) and has absolutely decimated its competitor PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds which is currently sitting at 66,000. Fortnite is a co-op sandbox survival game that I have had the pleasure of experiencing since it came out in July 2017 and is available to play on PC, Xbox One and PS4. Although it’s the free-to-play Battle Royal mode that is racking up so much attention on Twitch.

Fortnite has been in competition with such games as League of Legends, Overwatch, Dota 2, Counter-Strike: GO and PUBG since it launched. Although the current Twitch viewership puts Fortnite well above any of the previously mentioned games.

Fortnite 50 v 50 temporary game mode

If you are interested in watching some twitch streamers on Fornite here are a few big names that you may want to look into: Ninja, Summit1g, Gotaga, CDNThe3rd and DrDisRespectLIVE. Or you can check the game out for yourself since it is free for the Battle Royale mode with the co-op mode also going free at an undisclosed date this year. At the moment Fortnite is in Season 3 and has jetpacks coming soon! Fortnite still has so far to go and I imagine when the Save the World (co-op) becomes free to play there will be even more Twitch viewers and more players to the game.

Get out there and get ready to dab.
