Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends Definitive Edition also recently released on the Microsoft Store for Windows 10 OS.  This is the very first time the title has been available on the both Windows 10 and Nintendo Switch, allowing dedicated fans and newcomers to enter the battlefields and dominate in one-versus-thousands entertainment.

The original Dynasty Warriors 8 initially released in Australia way back in July 2013 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Featuring a story following a similar format to Dynasty Warriors 7 mixed with Dynasty Warriors 4 features, it received generally positive reviews from fans across the saga. The game featured a series first mechanic where enemy and ally AI punish players who fail to pay attention to their allies.  The difficulty in the title found some controversy for being catered, seemingly easier for Western audiences.

Around a year later, Omega Force released the Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends expansion in 2014. It introduced a new story which followed Lu Bu as the protagonist and his faction. Players were able to vote for three of their favourite characters, Zhao Yun, Wang Yuanji, and Xu Shu, to receive new costumes based on characters from other Koei Tecmo franchises. It added needed content additions, expanded the original games longevity, and really developed it as a standout title in the series. In fact, after the release of Dynasty Warriors 9 in 2018 to less than optimal reviews, the predecessor found increased attention and praise in players revolt against the sequel.

For fans of the series and newbies looking to see what it’s all about, pick up Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends Definitive Edition right now on the Nintendo Switch eShop. For everyone else, you can find the game on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox in one format or another.
