Each week there are plenty of new games coming out. Although with so much going on it can be hard to keep track of them all. Thankfully Checkpoint is here to sift through them all and bring you our highlights of the week.
So let’s jump in and have a look at what’s coming out this week.
Valorant
Date (Aus): 02/06/2020
Genre: FPS
Platforms: PC
“Here’s what we think it takes for you to trust a game enough to invest: 128-tick servers, at least 30 frames per second on most min-spec computers (even dating back a decade), 60 to 144+ FPS on modern gaming rigs, a global spread of datacenters aimed at <35ms for players in major cities around the world, a netcode we’ve been obsessing over for years, and a commitment to anti-cheat from day one.Shooting in VALORANT is precise, consequential, and highly-lethal – we want you to win on your skill and strategy alone.
Imagine this: tactical shooter meets hypernatural powers. Everyone’s got guns and a unique set of abilities, so how do you beat someone with the speed of wind? Use your own moves to outplay them and beat them to the shot. VALORANT is a game for bold strategists who dare to make the unexpected play, because if it wins, it works.“
Liberated
Date (Aus): 02/06/2020
Genre: Action/Adventure

“Liberated is an action-adventure game that unfolds across the pages of a comic book. Seamlessly merging the art of hand-drawn graphic novels with interactivity and side-scrolling action, it’s a revolutionary combination of video games and comics.
In this near-future dystopia, the eerily familiar always-online society gives way to complete government control—all in the name of safety. But in the midst of it all, an insurgent group known as “Liberated” rises.”

And for the first time in the Pro Cycling Manager series, you must look after your riders and their morale! One decision can change everything…
You must listen to the requests of your cyclists (inclusion in races, personal goals, etc.) and either agree to them or decline. You are the manager, only you can make the decisions that will maintain balance in your team and motivate your cyclists in crucial moments while trying to achieve the best results for your team.
You can also play as your own cyclist and pursue a career to the highest summits in the Pro Cyclist mode. Proved yourself in Career mode? Play online mode with up to 15 other players from all over the world.”

Valorant
It’s hard to deny the impact Riot Games has had and continues to have in the competitive multiplayer video game space. They are a company who understands how to create an online community and Valorant feels set to be a success even before it launches.
This hero-based precision shooter already has a lot of interest from the competitive scene with eSport players and game streamers flocking to the game during its beta phase. With a mix of utility based skills and traditional military shooting, Valorant seems ready to be the next big thing in competitive shooting.
