Ah, spring has sprung! But don’t worry, you can touch as much grass as you think is needed… then come in and play some more indie games! Here are 10 September indies we know you’re going to want to check out.
Hollow Knight: Silksong
Developer: Team Cherry
Release Date: September 5th
Platforms: PC, Switch 2, Xbox Series X, PS5
Discover a vast, haunted kingdom in Hollow Knight: Silksong! Explore, fight and survive as you ascend to the peak of a land ruled by silk and song.
The most hyped game on this September list is obviously Hollow Knight: Silksong. After six years of teasing, Team Cherry finally revealed only a few weeks ago that Silksong will release on September 5th 2025. This is a huge release for the Australian game industry, and I look forward to seeing how it builds on the story and gameplay of its predecessor, Hollow Knight.
Dead Reset
Developer: Dark Rift Horror, Wales Interactive
Release Date: September 12th
Platforms: PC, Switch, Xbox Series X, PS5
Trapped in a terrifying death-loop, surgeon Cole Mason is kidnapped and brought to an underwater facility, forced to operate on a patient to extract an evolving parasitic horror. Dead Reset is a blood-soaked interactive horror, where each death brings you closer to the truth.
Dark Rift Horror is a small horror studio that has released a number of indie horror movies. Dead Reset is their first horror game, and it looks like it could be a goodie! FMV games are getting better at presenting gamers with interactive experiences, so let’s hope Dead Reset, with their horror movie knowledge, can make this a captivating play.
Strange Antiquities
Developer: Bad Viking
Release Date: September 17th
Platforms: PC, Switch 2
Become the custodian of a store dealing in occult antiquities. Explore the quaint and gloomy town of Undermere, where strange goings-on and dark mysteries abound. Find and identify arcane artefacts, use your collection to aid the townsfolk with their unusual problems — and remember to pet your cat!
From the developers of 2022’s Strange Horticulture comes Strange Antiquities. This new game from brother devs Bad Viking sees players investigating peculiar items that may or may not be cursed. This isn’t a sequel to Strange Horticulture, but the developers say that some familiar faces will pop up… and maybe some familiar plants too!
Wobbly Life

Wobbly Life is a vibrant open-world physics sandbox. Play with your friends online or in local co-op, with exciting jobs, mini games and wacky story missions. Earn cash to spend in the world on clothes, vehicles and houses. There is a whole Wobbly World out there to explore!
Coming out of Early Access, Wobbly Life has amazing reviews on Steam. Wobbly Life is an up to 4 co-op adventure open world game where you run around a map covered in mini-games, odd scenarios and weird props. This looks like a wacky game for those who love having a laugh over co-op with their mates.
Moros Protocol
Developer: Pixel Reign
Release Date: September 19th
Platforms: PC
Face the darkness in Moros Protocol, a pixel-painted sci-fi FPS roguelite where every battle is for survival. Stranded on a decaying warship, stalked by horrors, and guided by a voice you don’t recognize, you must adapt, upgrade and push forward. You may be outnumbered, but you are not outmatched.
The developers of Moros Protocol have been very influenced by 90s and 00s FPS classics such as Doom and Ultrakill, and it really does show! You’ll be guided through the abandoned ship you wake up on by a voice you don’t recognise as you shoot your way through the gory monsters waiting to feast on you.
Arctic Awakening
Developer: Pixel Reign
Release Date: September 19th
Platforms: PC, Xbox Series X, PS5
A first-person narrative adventure set in the unforgiving Arctic. Your plane crashed in a storm, leaving only your court-mandated therapy bot for company as you journey to find your co-pilot and uncover the mysteries buried beneath the ice.
As protagonist Kai, you are your robot companion, Alfie, must find your missing co-pilot in this first-person narrative adventure. I’m hoping that Alfie will be more helpful than annoying, as sometimes an insistent little dude accompanying you is more cumbersome than productive. Together with them, you’ll be exploring hidden structures whilst you try to find your co-pilot and possibly, your way home.
Blippo+
Developer: YACHT, Telefantasy Studios, Noble Robot
Release Date: September 24th
Platforms: PC, Switch
Blippo+ is a live-action, off-cable TV simulator. Channel-surf the stars and discover the staticky, radical world of Planet Blip through its soaps, sitcoms, news, weather, and talk shows. But don’t touch that remote—everything’s about to get bent.
FMVs are becoming more and more prevalent in the gaming world, and this one looks super fun! Maybe it’s because, as a person born in the 80s, this one drips with nostalgia. It will also be cool to see how “bent” the world of Blippo+ gets! This is one I’m excited for this month.
The House of Tesla
Developer: Blue Brain Games
Release Date: September 24th
Platforms: PC, Switch
A brand-new adventure from the creators of The House of Da Vinci. With new handcrafted puzzles, hauntingly beautiful locations and challenges for your brain’s gray (or blue) matter. You will be able to look at the world through the eyes of one of the most famous inventors, Nikola Tesla.
Blue Brain Games are the creative minds behind “The House of…” series. Mainly, they have developed games that see the player exploring the inventions of Da Vinci, so this is a completely different time period. With a more modern setting, you get to explore the real places and plans of Tesla, along with a narrative filled with flashbacks and handcrafted puzzles.
Creepy Redneck Dinosaur Mansion 1 Re-Raptored
Developer: Pedalboard Games
Release Date: September 24th
Platforms: PC
RETURN TO THE CREEPY CLASSIC! Jack Briar is back to stop Bayliss’ dastardly Disaster once more! Rediscover every room, dino, and puzzle from the original match-3 survival horror comedy RPG metroidvania—now fully reraptored!
Love a fake franchise, and this is what Pedalboard Games has created with Creepy Redneck Dinosaur. The Match-3 gameplay seems to be quite popular at the moment, and I love how they’ve used it in this game. In the trailer, we can see the protagonist trying to unlock a gate, which will happen if the player beats a Match-3 game. A sequel to April 2025’s Creepy Redneck Dinosaur Mansion 3, this looks like a great, chill, nostalgia-inducing game.
Consume Me
Developer: Jenny Jiao Hsia, AP Thomson, Jie En Lee, Violet W-P, Ken “coda” Snyder
Release Date: September 26th
Platforms: PC
did you feel stupid, fat, lazy, and ugly in high school? well i did…but at least i made a life-simulation RPG about it!
School is an interesting time; everyone goes through it, and we leave with a nice bundle of insecurities and hopefully, some friends who helped make the time not a complete nightmare. Consume Me is a game that I see played out every day. As a teacher, I can see so many students consumed by the world of high school, running to classes, having crushes and dealing with their weird hormonal body changes. I get how all-consuming high school can be. Consume Me takes those themes and makes them into a dark comedy life sim where you play mini-games to achieve one of the 13 possible game endings. However, most of them are bad, so be prepared to be FULLY consumed by this game!
That’s a wrap on September games! Hope you had a blast checking these amazing September 2025 indies out, and I’ll see you next month!
