Dragon Quest Builders on track for October

Posted on May 30, 2016

Dragon Quest fans get excited! The newest spin-off, Dragon Quest Builders, is scheduled for release in October 2016 for Australia and NZ, Bandai Namco has confirmed.

“In Dragon Quest Builders, players are tasked to construct a wide variety of structures as they receive ever-more extravagant requests from expectant citizens eager to find a new home. Explore with the freedom of sandbox gameplay, combined with an immersive and charming Dragon Quest story – battling with iconic Dragon Quest monsters and interacting with gorgeously designed 3D characters along the way. With an intuitive control system, Dragon Quest Builders will have you building the towers and castles of your dreams in no time!”

Dragon Quest has been a classic JRPG franchise that has been spun off into many different other genres, including last years Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Trees Woe and the Blight Below (an action-based Dynasty Warriors style game),  Theatrhythm Dragon Quest (a rhythm game featuring the soundtrack) and the much loved DS title Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime, which featured tank battles against opponents.

Dragon Quest Builders looks like an attempt to really take advantage of the Minecraft trend; and to be honest, we’re very much looking forward to it. What do you think?
