F1 2016 will be coming out this winter for the PS4, Xbox One and PC via Steam. The game will be including the most immersive career mode the franchise has seen thus far.

F1 2016 will feature a career mode that will allow you to to experience in depth the prestigious and exciting world of motor sports, both on the track and behind the scenes. You as the player will have the option to choose an avatar and number to represent yourself within career mode. From there you are free to choose from any of the Formula One teams to join to start your long career. while it might not sound so exciting, each team will hold different goals, agendas and expectations of you which will give it plenty of diversity in terms of difficulty and ease of surpassing challenges. As you make more of a name for yourself in game, you will then also have the opportunity to switch teams (ie. be a dirty TURNCOAT) earn contracts and develop your team into championship contenders. Aside from career mode, a new street circuit has been added in Baku, Azerbaijan, as well as the iconic Safety car and Virtual Safety Car.

F1 2016 is a massive step forward for the franchise”, said Lee Mather, Principal Games Designer at Codemasters. “The new career mode sits at the heart of the game and allows gamers to create their own legend over a career that can span for up to a massive ten seasons. Beyond improving upon the fastest and most thrilling on-track racing experience in gaming, F1 2016 uniquely offers the drama and vehicle development that goes on behind the scenes. A rich car upgrade system is fully integrated into a new and deep practice development programme which mirrors the tests carried out by the teams in real life.”

Mather continued: “The career mode, together with the re-introduction of the Safety Car, the first inclusion of the Virtual Safety Car and a number of other unannounced improvements means that F1 2016 will have more new features than any other year of the franchise.”

To add to the realism of Career Mode, it also includes stunning hub areas where the player is able to work with their Player Agent and Research and Development Engineer to develop their progress and skill for both on and off the track. Easter eggs for fans of the sport have also been hinted at in this area, adding to  the immersion and realism of this much loved sports world experience.
