It has been announced via the developers Twitter that potential hit horror game Allison Road has been cancelled, with an official statement due in the next few days.
Allison Road generated a lot of hype when it was compared to horror game P.T., which was the playable teaser for the potentially-awesome-but-sadly-cancelled Silent Hills. Allison Road really looked like it was going to be just as dark and scary, except it was, you know… actually being developed. Sadly, that no longer seems to be the case.
Originally the game had a successful Kickstarter that was cut short as a publishing deal was cut with Team 17. Regardless of the reasons behind the cancellation, this is a sad day for horror fans everywhere and we hope that the development team bounce back, as it seemed to feature some talented people with a real passion for the genre. R.I.P. Allison Road, we hardly knew ye (and you still gave me nightmares, so thanks for that).
