New Yooka-Laylee trailer debuts, release date pushed back

It’s been a while since the very successful Kickstarter was funded, but a new trailer for Yooka-Laylee has been released by Playtonic Games.

In the message sent to all backers, they also mentioned that the game would be pushed back a ‘few months’ to ensure it is a polished release. “While we felt confident we could ship the game in October as originally projected in our Kickstarter, the Playtonic team has decided that it would prefer to add a few extra months’ polish to the game schedule. Ultimately, this will allow us to deliver a better game to the tens-of-thousands of you who’ve supported us throughout development. And that’s what we all want, right?”

While we’re keen to play the new buddy platformer from some former Banjo-Kazooie developers (I backed it), I think that ensuring Yooka-Laylee is of a high quality is very important, not just for the game, but for everybody who has already invested money in the title when the Kickstarter wrapped up over a year ago.
