Cyanide Studio’s has revealed the E3 Trailer for the sequel to their surprise, stealthy, success Styx: Master of Shadows. Apt to the name , the new game entitled Styx: Shards of Darkness still showcases our stealthy, goblin friend Styx and introduces us to his new mission to steal the Ambassador’s Sceptre.
Set in Körangar, the city of the Dark Elves, the new game is said to have a “bigger production, a load of new features and a new engine” when compared to it’s predecessor. Running on Unreal Engine 4 the developers of the game claim that Styx: Shards of Darkness will showcase “new enemies, new environments, and a plethora of new mechanics aimed at refining the abilities and movement of Styx.”
With the original game going down as a cult classic amongst stealth game lovers we can only hope that the developers are able to re-create the charm and the fantastic, stealth gameplay of the first. A fresh new engine, new story and a stronger focus on narrative and movement may make Styx: Shards of Darkness an instant purchase when it is released later this year on both PC and console.
