With so much going on in the last couple of days I really hope nobody missed this quirky, little announcement from the Ubisoft E3 stage. That’s because I couldn’t have thought of a better way to spice up a physics-based, motorcycle stunt game than to incorporate a cheesy, action-heavy, neon coloured, 80’s inspired theme – And that is exactly what has been done to create Trials of the Blood Dragon.
Still developed by Trials developer Redlynx, Trials of the Blood Dragon is this odd, yet intriguing mashup of the Trials games along with first-person shooter, Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon. The Blood Dragon portion of the mashup doesn’t seem to stop at an aesthetic level though, with the game incorporating shooting, grappling hooks and sections of the game played on foot. I’m not entirely convinced by these updated gameplay changes but if they keep enough of the fast paced, vehicular stunting and racing from past titles then they’ll keep me grinning.
Trials of the Blood Dragon was released half an hour after it’s E3 reveal so it’s actually available to download and play right now on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
