Alongside the announcement of Project Sonic 2017 at San Diego Comic-Con, Sega has also unveiled their plans to re-master the original trilogy of games as well.
Revealed at a special ‘Sonic 25th anniversary’ event, the new trilogy will go under the name Sonic Mania. It will feature a mixture of levels from the original games, updated with newer visuals as well as brand new levels entering into the mix.
Sonic Mania is being developed alongside a dedicated and highly praised Sonic fan-game creator, Christian Whitehead. Hopefully the pairing will be able to create something special when it releases next year on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
