We love couch co-op here at Checkpoint, so it’s great to see Ubisoft’s announcement yesterday that Just Sing will be coming to Xbox One and Playstation 4 on September 6.
While hardly a new concept, the music party game will take the success of the Just Dance franchise and put a spin on console Karaoke games, currently absent from this generation of consoles.
Just Sing will use the Xbox Kinect or Playstation Camera to record music videos with up to 4 performers, or battle one-on-one in the competitive mode. With no need for microphones, players can use their smartphone (when connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the console) as both microphone and recording device. Add a few built in filters and Snapchat-like themes and you’re ready to broadcast your embarrassment to the world of YouTube. Just Sing will also allow those less inclined to belt out those high-tones to record lip-sync videos rivaling the queens of Drag Race.
45 songs are promised on release (including Let It Go, yes I checked) ranging from new chart hits to classic Karaoke favourites, with hopefully more to follow. If you’re really lucky we might even get an impromptu performance by the Checkpoint team. For ah… review purposes only!
