KURSK demo to be debuted at Gamescom

Posted on August 1, 2016

Do you remember KURSK?

We saw a brief teaser for this first-person adventure-documentary a little over a year ago. It’s a fact-based account of the events which led to the sinking of a Russian submarine on August 12th, 2000 with all 118 crew members on board.

The demo being released at Gamescom is a big deal. It wasn’t clear if the game would get off the ground due to it being a fairly fresh national tragedy for Russian users.

For the rest of us, this game represents a unique and potentially groundbreaking direction for gaming in general. How do we make games not just with historical elements, but that act as historical non-fiction?

It is unclear at this stage if only Gamescom attendees will have access to the  demo or whether it will be disseminated online too. Here’s hoping!
