The pre-registration for Mobius Final Fantasy was launched at 8pm on Saturday (AEST). In less than 24 hours, almost 200, 000 people (including myself, of course) have signed up, exceeding the expectation of the page.
Initially the rewards only went so far as 250, 000 pre-registrations, but as can be seen above, there is the consideration for more to be added given the staggering response thus far. The iconic brotherhood blade from Final Fantasy X is already up for grabs, so I’m really hoping another relic-like item is offered amongst any additional goodies.
Created by an all-star development team including producer Yoshinori Kitase and writer Kazushige Nojima – known for their work on the acclaimed Final Fantasy VII and upcoming Final Fantasy VII Remake, Mobius Final Fantasy is the story of a man who wakes up in a world called Palamecia with no memory of his past. There, he finds himself tasked with bringing hope to the world by unravelling a mysterious prophecy around the legendary warrior of light.
Speaking truthfully, I hope that Mobius will be what Exvius was not: a smooth, immersive mobile adaptation of classic Final Fantasy gameplay. I’m keen to see how this one turns out, and for anyone who hasn’t pre-registered, do it! It’s in my own.. *cough* our own *cough* best interests! The game is out on August 3rd, so keep an eye out for it on the Play Store.
