Quake Champions was announced during the Bethesdas E3 Conference, and now a gameplay trailer for the reboot/re-imagining of the legendary id software game Quake has been unveiled for us to all drool over during QuakeCon. And booooy oh boy!, does it look satisfying! Quake Champions is set to deliver the same story as the original while boasting the same intense multiplayer as Quake III: Arena. This time round the Quake franchise has something new bursting out of the gate, with the introduction of Champions (just like the title says!), a roster full of brutal warriors, each with unique attributes and abilities to let players really play in a way that suits them.
It’s a nice change because it looks like id software aren’t just relying on nostalgia to sell this big bad juicy shooter!
“20 years ago, Quake set new standards for multiplayer competition and pushed the boundaries for graphics and gameplay,” said Tim Willits, Studio Director, id Software. And it really looks like Quake Champions is set to push the boundaries with their graphics and gameplay all over again.
