As always, TGS is a special time when gamers hold their collective breath to see if their anticipated games for the upcoming year get some love and feature on the floor. For me, it was a waiting game, just hoping that we’d get some new imagery for Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age. Announced earlier this year, Final Fantasy XII’s remake was said to be receiving the HD treatment, similar to that of Final Fantasy X/X-2 and would include Japan’s previously unreleased Zodiac Age iteration for the rest of the world to experience.
This year Square Enix have released both a new trailer and some gorgeous rendered HD images for us all to marvel at.
Slated for release in 2017, this is going to be one of those games on my to-play list. For now let’s enjoy the pretty images that been released and the additional trailer on top of that. Filled with expansive shots of the many terrains found in Ivalice, the trailer takes its time lavishing the viewers with clearly re-rendered cut-scenes before finally showing us the battle gameplay. I for one am impressed with how well it has aged, all things (and two consoles later) considered.
