From the minute you open the menu you know you’re in for an amazing time with this game. Instead of a quit option you’re given a button which quite simply says “GO HOME and eat Strudel!”. When you click this amazing little button you are gifted with a god like voice bellowing “STRUDEL!”
Armed with your trusty lightspear, you traverse through varied landscapes right out of Germanic myths. Survival, like in most games is a need, but in Lichtspeer its also an art. Taking on the role of an ancient Germonaut champion summoned to please the Gods and restore balance to the universe. Fight with style and expand your powers, but always remember to fight for glory to amuse the almighty Gods…

Don’t be fooled however, Lichtspeer is no cake-walk. The game is crushingly difficult at times, and you can tell almost instantly when you miss, it will mean your doom. Dispatch your enemies fast and efficiently, as each type has different strengths and poses a different threat. But don’t think this makes Lichtspeer unplayable. No the game itself is highly addictive regardless of your impending death, likely by Skater Walruses.
Out now on Steam for PC and the PS4 PlayStation store, Lichtspeer will also be coming to the PSVita in the future. Until then just enjoy playing it at home; and above all, eat strudel!
