PAX Australia 2016 schedule out now!

The biggest gaming event in Australia is right on our doorstep and it has just released its 2016 schedule. Running from November 4th – November 6th, PAX Aus is bringing all things ‘gaming’ to Melbourne with tournaments, exhibits, panels and more. The event is taking place at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre where tabletop, handheld, PC and console gamers can all find something they enjoy.

With the release of the PAX Aus Schedule we are finally able to see what attractions are taking place on what days. For those who are yet to purchase a ticket jump to it because they are beginning to sell out!

PAX Australia Schedule

The schedule for PAX Aus has revealed a lot of goodies for us to enjoy and it is absolutely jam packed full of tournaments, demos, panels, exhibits and shows. Here are a few standouts from the Checkpoint team:

Saturday Night Concert – Main Theatre, Saturday 7pm – Live performances from 7bit Hero, Axis of Awesome, and DUET (performed by Tim Shiel & Luke Howard).

Cultivating Safe & Inclusive Nerd Spaces – Kookaburra Theatre, Friday 6.30pm – A panel that discusses the creation of safe spaces and inclusivity in nerd culture, featuring Checkpoint’s very own Morgan Archer!

Crowdfunding 101: How to Kickstart Your Ideas – Dropbear Theatre, Saturday 10.30am – A panel discussing the how to’s of crowdfunding success, run by crowdfunding success stories.

The Influence of Influencers  – Wombat Theatre, Friday 12.30pm – A panel all about the art of streaming games and how to turn that into a success, run by a group of talented Twitch and Youtube content creators.

Heroes Like Us: Representation of Queer Identity in Games – Kookaburra Theatre, Saturday 5pm – A look at the diversity of sexuality and gender within video games, what succeeded and what didn’t and how we can move forward in the future.

PAX Aus FOOD FIGHT: 2 – Main Theatre, Friday 7pm – The second iteration of  an annual PAX Aus cooking challenge that features gaming identities live, on stage.

Is VR Better Than Real Life? – Main Theatre, Sunday 10.30am – A debate that sees two teams consisting of comedians, game developers, scientists and journalists asking the big question, “Is VR better than real life?

Aussie Indie Showcase Panel – Kookaburra Theatre, Saturday 6.30pm – A showcase of Australia’s best independent talent and their creations within the gaming space.
