With all the madness of PAX AUS over the weekend, you might not have seen that Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King will be release for the Nintendo 3DS as soon as January 21st 2017.
Released originally on the PS2, the RPG is considered one of the strongest of the whole series by many, and introduced a whole generation to the Dragon Quest franchise by having beautiful cel-shaded graphics, loads of personality and a deep, complex story with lovable characters. If you couldn’t tell already, it’s one of my personal favourite games of all time and I can’t wait to play it all over again.
The new version for the handheld also features a Quick Save function (which is more of a blessing than the literal blessing of having to go to a church to save in the game itself) and also a “Speed Up” feature, allowing you to move through the turn-based battles even faster if you so wish.
