Announced today at PAX Australia (which was amazing) was the news of the arrival of the HTC VIVE to Australian retail stores. More specifically, the device will be coming to both JB Hi-Fi and Harvey Norman as soon as November 18.
Previously the device was only available through online purchase and shipping, so having a physical toy to check out in the stores is a big bonus. Select stores will also have the unit available for demo purposes to give you a run down of what you might expect.
The total price of the device has been set at a whopping $1,399. This may seem initially high but with Australian conversion rates and shipping it works out to be only slightly more expensive than an online purchase, which with today’s conversion rates (04/11/16) is $1,326.
How do you feel about the HTC VIVE hitting Australian shores? Will you line up for a demo or are you too shocked at that price tag?
