While in the US, Black Friday is a big thing, in Australia our biggest shopping bargain day of the year definitely seems to be Boxing Day. The day after Xmas, I’m sure there’s lots of you who got gift vouchers or money from relatives who had no idea what game to buy you, so you’ll be itching to get out there today and snag the best deals. Check out some of the highlights right here and let us know what bargains you find out there!
For those looking to get a new console, EB Games has a pretty sweet deal for Xbox One S; the 1 TB console comes with 3 games (Battlefield 1, Skyrim Remastered and Assassins Creed Syndicate, plus the option of the awesome Forza Horizon 3 for an additional $20) for a grand total of $399. They also have the Watch Dogs 2 San Francisco Edition (which comes with a figurine and other cool stuff) for $57 on Xbox One/PS4, $68 on PC.
Still haven’t invested in DOOM? It’s only $15 at Target and is 100% worth purchasing for that price.
Overall, JB Hi-Fi is still the best place to get a PS4 500GB at $319 and also has some decent prices on a bunch of recent-release games. Check out some of my favourites below (prices are for both Xbox One and PS4 versions)
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare $49
Dark Souls 3 $49
Dishonored 2 $49
Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition $49
Dead Rising 4 $69 (Xbox Only)
FIFA 17 $59
Final Fantasy XV Steelbook Edition or Day One Edition $69
Mafia 3 $39
NBA 2K17 $69
Rise of the Tomb Raider Artbook Edition $49 (PS4 only)
Steep $49
Watch Dogs 2 Hacker Edition $49
It could also be a good idea to stock up on some vouchers for the PlayStation Network, who are having a sale themselves at the moment for the next few weeks. Highlights include Firewatch for $17.95, Darkest Dungeon for $16.45, Ratchet & Clank for $24.95, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain for $17.95 and plenty more. PS Vita owners even get some serious love, with World of Final Fantasy + Dragon Quest Builders for $32.95 each and the stunning Persona 4 Golden for a ridiculous $7.55. Grand Kingdom is also absolutely worth checking out for just $22.95.
One last shout out to the New Zealand developer Dinosaur Polo Club; their game Mini Metro was one of the highlights at PAX 2016 in the Indie space, and you can check it out now on iOS for only $1.49 (on sale from its regular price of $7.99). I’ve given it a download myself for this great price and basically can’t stop playing it.
