NieR: Automata’s demo is coming

Posted on December 9, 2016

Square Enix made some noise in the gaming arena recently when shortly after announcing their release date for NieR: Automata, the sequal to their insanely wacky action-adventure NieR, they also announced a PS4 demo will be coming, due on December 22nd. There’s no real indicator on the size or depth of the demo but what we do know is what it will consist of. With an abandoned factory as the backdrop, the demo follows android 2B’s mission to destroy a massive enemy weapon that lies within.

NieR: Automata is set in a future earth where mankind has retreated to the moon and left sentient androids in their steed to do battle with robot invaders from another world. Succeeding in only slowing its advance, to break the deadlock, a new breed of android infantry must be sent into the fray: the YoRHa squad.

NieR: Automata will launch on 10th March, 2017 for PS4 and is available in a limited edition full of a bunch of extra skins and game content like:

  • Exclusive Steelbook Case featuring character illustrations from Akihiko Yoshida
  • Extra Digital Bonus Content including:
    • Machine Mask Accessory
    • Grimoire Weiss Pod
    • Play System Pod Skin
    • Retro Grey Pod Skin
    • Retro Red Pod Skin
    • Cardboard Pod Skin
