Square Enix Surprise Box is back!

Posted on December 13, 2016

Yes it’s that time of year again, so what will the JRPG developer leave under your tree this year?

In what is fast becoming an annual tradition, the Square Enix Surprise Box is back for another holiday season. For those unfamiliar, the Holiday Box is a digital game pack offered at an extreme discount from the publisher for one week only. The catch: you have no idea what’s inside.

Promising a line up of 7 PC titles worth over $100 AUD, the pack is available for purchase from today, through to next Monday (19/12).  However you won’t get to unwrap this gift until Tuesday the 20th of December, when everyone finds out what’s in the pack.

Considering the price and number of titles included, it’s unlikely that you’ll find a copy of FF XV or Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, with some fans decrying that the quality of included titles has waned in recent years.

However with last year’s box containing Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris, Thief and FF XIII as well as some smaller titles, if you’re a Square Enix fan who hasn’t kept up to date, or a new fan with with the release of Final Fantasy XV, this could be a great way to fill in your game collection for over the summer.

So what are you hoping to be in the pack? Is it too early to hope for I am Setsuna? Just Cause 3 is just over a year old now, which could also put it into contention. Comment below with your predictions, and for those interested in the Square Enix Holiday Box, be sure to head to their website before it’s too late!
