If you thought VR games would feature heavily at The PlayStation Experience conference this year, then you’d be right on target!
If you’d have thought one of those games would feature you strapping a teddy bear to the front of a spaceship death machine, then you’re practically clairvoyant! Starblood Arena drops you into the cockpit of your own highly manoeuvrable mech in an intense, first-person action shooter/brawler game exclusively for PlayStation VR.
In Starblood Arena players have one goal: take out enemy ships in the coolest ways imaginable. The trailer showcases Battle Royale and Team Deathmatch modes, with players manoeuvring around an enclosed arena. There are various objects obscuring your path or offering cover, and a variety of mechs are available, each with different strengths and weaknesses.
This looks to be a great addition to the PlayStation VR line up. Featuring tons of unlockables and ship customisation, Starblood Arena has the makings of a really interesting take on the standard shooter/brawler types. Add to this the fact it’s in VR and I see plenty of fun to be had with this game. Teased for release in Autumn 2017 (for those of us in the southern hemisphere) its definitely one to keep an eye out for.
