Bandai Namco has released another trailer for their upcoming 2017 JRPG Tales or Berseria. The trailer features both a beautifully rendered anime-like beginning and a showcase of small snippets of actual gameplay and cut scenes, layered all throughout with what seems like an impressive English voice acting cast.
Being the JRPG nut that I am I was plenty excited when Tales of Berseria was announced as a prequel game to Tales of Zesteria, but that it would be a stand-alone game, making for a fresh story in a familiar world. The trailer itself gives very little of the story away, succeeding wonderfully at drawing the viewer into this mysterious tale of tragedy, loss and revenge. Unlike its predecessor Tales of Zesteria, which was for all intents and purposes very fun and light-hearted in its play through, Tales of Berseria appears to have a darker and more mature narrative.
Tales of Berseria will be available for purchase for the PlayStation 4 and PC on January 27, 2017.
