Digimon World: Next Order, are you ready?

The Digital World is under attack!

Digimon World: Next Order is an open world role-playing game, similar to some Digimon games of the past (Digimon World Re:Digitize and Decode). The game’s story centres around two potential main characters: Takuto and Shiki. Takuto, once a passionate Digimon fan in his youth has since become more concerned with grown up pursuits. He and Shiki are transported to the Digital World where they meet their Digimon partners, including Agumon, Gabumon, Biyomon, and Palmon. They’re joined on their journey by classmates Kouta (whose partner is Guilmon) and Himari (who is partnered with a Salamon she nicknamed “Rikka”).

Whilst the game was already released on PS Vita in Japan last year, it’s now seeing an international release on the PS4. To help keep fans pumped, developer Bandai Namco have just released an English trailer titled ‘Un-hatch Your Destiny’. The trailer shows off some of the game-play from the English version of the game, such as raising Digimon, exploration, battles, and extra Cross Evolutions. Check it out below.

In the trailer we also get to see a new Digimon “Boltbautamon” who is a product of Piedmon absorbing Myotismon, which in turn created a new demon-type Digimon who has one goal, to rid all the world of light by engulfing it with darkness. Its special attack is called “Palazivalzer”, which fires magic from its trusty sword, “Spiedini.” So let’s hope that our protagonists are up to the job of stopping Boltbautamon! (The translations of “Boltbautamon” and the special attack “Palazivalzer” may differ in the final localised version of the game).
