Double Dragon, the classic gaming series, is making its long overdue return to the gaming world with the announcement of Double Dragon VI. Arc System Works has revealed that the side-scrolling beat em’ up will be coming to PlayStation 4 in late January, via PlayStationNetwork, and then to Steam a day later. Aside from offline co-op play, not a whole lot is known about the game at the moment, but a teaser trailer has been released and shows us the retro gaming style of Double Dragon we all remember and adore.
The 30 year old story (feeling old yet?) will follow on from Double Dragon II and will pit Jimmy and Billy against a horde of enemies in Japan. For those familiar with the series, it may please you to know that a number of original developers have returned to help develop the game; including Original Planner Yoshihisa Kishimoto, Designer Koji Ogata, and Composer Kazunaka Yamane, making this game the closest thing to a direct sequel as possible.
