For those gamers who , like myself, are secretly-guilty fans of Ariana Grande: Exciting news!
As you may have already heard, the pint size pop star is lending both her voice and likeness to the popular JRPG mobile gaming app Final Fantasy Brave Exvius. Now a video has been released, detailing the collaboration. Take a look below.
The collaboration will see Grande’s song “Touch It” remixed using a 52-piece orchestra, in order to give the rendition an RPG-gaming spin to fit in with the existing soundtrack, while still keeping it modern and in line with Grande’s particular brand.
Included in the announcement, Grande has been turned into a gaming sprite to battle alongside your team and will take on a form that has her sporting the leather-bunny look of her Dangerous Woman album cover. Not a whole lot is known about her class and battle abilities, but if I had to speculate, I would wager it would fall in line with a bard-type role.
This is not the first time Final Fantasy has taken inspiration and help from popular artists and brands to help garner hype and interest in their releases. Using such artists like Leona Lewis (Final Fantasy XIII), Florence Welch (Final Fantasy XV), and Japanese pop-idol Gackt (Final Fantasy VII), as well as the popular fashion brand Luis Vuitton (Final Fantasy XIII). It’s wonderful to see when two worlds collide to create a harmonious effect, SquareEnix sure knows how to advertise, and build hype.
Final Fantasy Brave Exvius is available now as a free-to-play app on iOS and Android devices, through the Apple App Store and Google Play respectively.
More information on the Grande/Exvius mashup is set to be released in the app itself later this month, with updates and new missions released regularly.
