BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment UK and Tarsier Studios have made the announcement that their upcoming game Little Nightmares will release for physical purchase (Australia pending) and digital download on the 28th of April this year, available on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam and GOG.com. A trailer labelled “The Nine Deaths of Six” has also been released showcasing Little Nightmares gameplay.
The 2 minute trailer follows Six as she makes her desperate bid to escape The Maw, whilst avoiding its murderous residents, not always succeeding. The puzzle-platformer looks and feels rather bleak, all for the better, as it’s not a kids game we’re playing here. The cutesy-creepy music only adds to the sinister ambience, as its fanfare is something you’d expect from a Tim Burton film. We are also treated to a new character simply known as “The Janitor” who’s role in the game is still not perfectly clear.
For those gamers who want to get in early, you’ll be pleased to learn that you can pre-purchase Little Nightmares digitally on all platforms. Pre-ordering will also grant players two additional items, ‘The Scarecrow Sack’ and ‘Upside-Down Teapot Mask’ to help the little Six blend in with the other inhabitants of the Maw and avoid detection.
