Bandai Namco have finally issued a release date of June 2nd, 2017 for their long time fighting franchise. TEKKEN 7, which was originally slated for release early 2017 might have seemed to be suffering the curse of the delay which was ever so present last year, but this isn’t the case.
At a recent event in Tokyo, Harada explained they were keen to avoid a rushed launch, quoted as saying “We were trying to do everything we could to make that date happen… Maybe to scale down on the content in order to make the master release, but in the end we came to the decision that after seeing releases from other companies, as well as some of the past of our own, where maybe things weren’t working 100% at launch, or maybe it was missing some content, that’s the kind of thing we wanted to avoid with TEKKEN 7, so we made a very difficult decision of moving it to June to include all of the original content that we’d originally planned.”
TEKKEN 7 will be coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC and is the culmination of the highest levels of fighting game development, surpassing its arcade counterpart. Offering additional balance and fine tuning, the inclusion of a dramatic story mode and more characters, it also includes the implementation of online tournament modes which, according to Bandai Namco, will ignite the fighting spirit amongst gamers around the world.
TEKKEN 7 launches on June 2, 2017, and the game will be available with a variety of special offers, the most extravagant and impressive being a Collector’s Edition (available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC) featuring the Deluxe Edition of the game, Season Pass, a special Steel-book, the official TEKKEN 7 soundtrack and a spectacular statue measuring approximately 30cm tall by 45cm wide which features a dynamic pose of Kazuya fly kicking Heihachi in mid-air.
