The For Honor closed beta was exceptionally well received, but it wasn’t without a few minor issues. Complaints mostly surrounded ability balance and how quickly players gravitated towards the more powerhouse heroes. Thankfully, Ubisoft has been busy making some changes to get the game dynamics just right before launch day. To top it off they surprised everyone last week when they announced that the previously closed, invite only beta would be opening up to the general public.
While it will be similar to the recently ended closed beta, this new For Honor open beta will also include the new ‘Elimination’ mode which is a best-of-five series featuring four-on-four matches with no respawns. Players will also be able to continue the ‘War of the Factions’ where you lead your chosen army to victory and reap the rewards when the full game launches.
The open beta starts February 9th and will run until the 12th, just two days before the game’s official release on February 14th. With the game’s release so close, this feels more like a time-limited multiplayer demo than an actual beta. So if you’re still on the fence about For Honor, this is certainly worth checking out.
