In an anticipation to Square Enix’s eagerly awaited NieR: Automata‘s release, a new trailer has been revealed. Now while it is gorgeous, stunning and action packed, this new trailer has me, and I’m sure others, scratching their heads and wondering: What exactly is going on?
Focusing on YoRHa No. 2 Model B (“2B” for short) and YoRHa No. 9 Model S (“9S”) on their quest in a desolate world, it showcases 2B and A9 in several battles against large mechas while exploring their surroundings. During the 14th Machine War, when battles are no longer fought by humans, 2B and A9 are tasked with saving humanity, but it would appear that 2B has a secondary motive in mind, as she searches for another android – but who is he and what is his importance to her?
During the trailer we are also introduced to two other android-like characters, who are similar in appearance to 2B and A9, casually commenting on their “similarities”; however they do not seem to be working for the same side. Glory to Mankind’s trailer looks really beautiful, there’s no doubt about that – it’s like anime and sci-fi fuzed with a hint of realism which really draws you in; you know it’s a game but really wish the real world had these kinds of aspects.
NieR: Automata is set for release in Australia on March 10 on the PlayStation 4 and digital download for PC. For those of you who are keen to give it a test run before purchase, PlayStation have released a NieR: Automata demo.
