News has surfaced this morning that a sequel to Warner Bro’s Shadow of Mordor, Shadow of War, has been leaked by US retail giant, Target.
The sequel will see Talion and Celebrimbor teaming up again to take on Mordor for a second time. According to Target’s description (which has since been taken down) players will “go behind enemy lines to forge your army, conquer Fortresses and dominate Mordor from within”. The Nemesis system is also returning which will create “unique personal stories with every enemy and follower”.
Both a standard and “gold” edition of the game were leaked, the latter containing two more story expansions with new campaigns, playable characters and the like. The game is once again being developed by Monolith and published by Warner Bros. PS4 and Xbox titles were confirmed, however there was no mention of a PC title in the leak. Given the original did release on PC, I feel like it is a matter of time before this one gets confirmed too.
The leak set a release date of August 22 for the game in the US. I’ve heard only good things from friends about the first game, so here’s to hoping that the sequel packs the same punch. Oh to be a fly on the wall in the PR department of Target this morning….. lol.
