After a successful Kickstarter campaign, the team at Something Classic Games have announced the release date for their project, Shadows of Adam. The title is set to launch on February 23rd of this year on PC, Linux, and Mac and is promised to pay homage to the JRPG genre and all its fans.
The story follows the son and daughter of the legendary hero Orazio, who disappears suddenly one day. As a darkness falls over the village of Adam it is left upon Kellan and Asrael’s shoulders to investigate their fathers abrupt disappearance and save their homeland. Something that will be a nice change of pace for the experienced JRPG players out there is the absence of random enemy encounters as you explore the environment. With a new AP system included in the game it’s sure to shake things up while still giving us the nostalgic feeling of the genre in all its 16-bit glory.
“It’s an honor for us to provide Shadows of Adam in its entirety to newcomers, and of course our Kickstarter supporters, followers, and fans finally getting their full course meal!” said Something Classic Games Creative Director Tim Wendorf within a press release. “This game is our tribute to an industry which has consistently rewarded its followers for decades by offering classic after classic to keep even the strongest and most unique RPG urges satiated.”
