Another new character has been announced for Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment’s game, Injustice 2. I’ve got to say, I honestly wasn’t expecting to see Swamp Thing. He is another completely new character to be added to the roster, and one that actually may be a tough opponent to take on.
After seeing Swamp Thing do his thing in this latest trailer, I can’t help but feel psyched to give the big green lug a standing ovation. This guy can bring the pain! Swamp Thing looks like a character designed for dosing out large amounts of damage if you’re unlucky enough to be facing him, although his battle style is actually more well-rounded than I initially assumed. Players will not only have to watch their front from a barrage of massive melee attacks, but also watch their backs as it appears Swamp Thing can craftily slip behind his opponents with ease. His speed, while possibly not on par with some of the other recently announced characters, is nothing to sneer at, and his mid and long range attacks look as though they would make up for any other shortcomings.
Swamp Thing, while not aligned with evil-doers in the DC cannon, is technically not on the side of humanity either. His only concern is protecting the earth from harm, being it good or evil’s doing. This means that his alliance in Injustice 2 is murky at best, so it will be interesting to see what role he plays in Injustice 2‘s story.
Injustice 2 is set for release on the May 17, 2017 in Australia and will be playable on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles. It’s also available for pre-ordered currently with exclusive additional content.
