Ch…Ch…Ch…Chip ‘n Dale! Rescue Rangers!
On April 18 2017 Capcom will be releasing The Disney Afternoon Collection featuring six classic games based on 80s and 90s Disney cartoons. The six games in question will be Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers, Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers 2, Darkwing Duck, DuckTales , DuckTails 2 and TaleSpin. These titles will be available on PS4, Xbox One and PCs via Steam.
Although it would be hilarious to see Darkwing Duck in Street Fighter or the Marvel vs Capcom-esque franchise, that isn’t going to happen… yet (just think about it Capcom… Marvel vs Capcom vs Disney).
Each classic game has been restored with improved 1080p HD graphics while still keeping its retro feel, and the collection features new game modes Boss Rush where you carry out each Boss battle consecutively (just like Street Fighter… kinda. OK I’ll stop hinting now) and Time Attack with online leader-boards for gamers to boast their quickest times. A strange new feature aimed at new players is “rewind” allowing a player to rewind time to undo a mistake. Hmm doesn’t that defeat the point of these games?
What looks to be a neat little package of nostalgia and wealthy ducks on pogo sticks could certainly fill an afternoon, or perhaps even an evening.
