It has been officially confirmed that AFL Evolution will be releasing on May 5th for PS4 and Xbox One, and releasing sometime shortly after for PC.
The new Career Mode will allow you to take part as a player on the field, while also allowing you to manage your team via the drafting and trading of players, the salary cap, training, the tribunal and more. Your player will start from scratch, working their way through the ranks – or you can just jump in as an existing AFL player and follow the premiership path that fans already know all about.
The Player Creator is a new feature that will allow you to make a version of yourself, or just be creative using the different facial features, skill attributes and accessories. These can then be shared with others via the fan hub, which is already live here, alongside online competitive play.
AFL Evolution features over 80 teams from the AFL, VFL, TAC Cup, NAB Under-18s Championships and International Cup, as well as multiple bonus teams such as the Indigenous All Stars. A gameplay trailer is expected to be revealed in the coming days, so we’ll be able to see how it’s shaping up before release.
AFL games in the past have been a bit hit and miss, largely due to the sport itself having such free-flowing rules compared to say, soccer or basketball. Either way, we’re pumped for AFL Evolution and are hoping for it to be a big success!
