Darksiders Warmastered Edition is finally on its way to the Wii U and is by no means cancelled. Scheduled for release on May 23rd, this edition will feature performance improvements and HD resolution.
The plight of War, deceived into bringing about the apocalypse and the end of both Heaven and Earth, solidified this IP as one of my all time favourite games.
The WiiU version will run at 30 frames per second and will feature improved textures, better rendering and shadows, and new post processing effects (although this will be the same for all versions of the remaster). There is still no word around new content being added to the original game, however the comparatively low price point of the game is definitely tempting me to play it again.
When THQ filed for bankruptcy I was genuinely saddened by the news. When THQ Nordic emerged onto the gaming scene the spark of hope I have for Darksiders 3 rekindled. I am hoping against hope that this resurgence of Darksiders content is a sign of things to come and that the remaining two horseman of the apocalypse, Strife and Fury, emerge from purgatory (both literally and metaphorically) soon.
Darksiders Warmastered Edition is already available for PC, Playstation 4 and Xbox One.
