In what has got to one of the best advertising lead-ups to a game in ages, Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment’s Injustice 2 has released another trailer to its continuing Shattered Alliance series. I simply can’t take much more hype, my body is ready for this game, it really is. Braniac, another DC super-villain is given screen time on this latest trailer as he throws down the gauntlet. With one of DC’s more insidious antagonists in the mix, Earth’s heroes may not come out of this battle unscathed…
One of the greater villains borne out of the DC Universe, Brainiac is certainly no stranger to doing battle with Krypton’s Man of Steel. An extra-terrestrial being of unimaginable intellect, Brainiac seeks to consume all in his path, much like the Borg of Star Treck. This time however, Brainiac seems to be seeking out Superman, who is currently being detained by Batman and fighting his own personal war.
Very few heroes can stand up to the sheer might of Brainiac, but Kal-El is one of them. However, what exactly is going to happen with Superman being the villain this time? There’s just no telling how this story is going to play out, but Brainiac will most definitely be one of the ‘Big Bads’ of Injustice 2. Fingers crossed it’s an all-out war in which the enemy of my enemy is my ally.
Developed by NetherRealm Studios, Injustice 2 will feature an impressive roster of DC Super Heroes and Super-Villains and allow players to build and power up the ultimate version of their favourite DC characters. The game will be available on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on 24th May 2017.
