The Pokémon Company have announced that Marshadow, “the gloomdweller Pokémon”, will be available in Pokémon Sun and Moon “soon”. This Pokémon is said to be a fighting and ghost type, which is pretty exciting, as Marshadow will be the FIRST fighting and ghost type in the Pokémon world, and will perfectly round out your ghost Pokémon team (OK, I may be a ghost trainer…).
According to speculation on the interwebs, the name Marshadow may be a combination of “shadow” (as in shadow boxing) and “Nightmarchers”, ghosts of ancient Hawaiian warriors (Pokémon Sun and Moon are Hawaiian-themed after all). As with other mythical types, this Pokémon will not be encountered during normal game play, so expect a special code or similar in the near future.
Marshadow is also set to feature in the 20th Pokemon movie “I Choose You” alongside Ho-Oh, that will premiere on 15 July 2017 in Japan (no international dates have yet been set).
