Ok now you can be officially excited! Capcom have announced that Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite will be simultaneously released on PS4, Xbox One and PC on September 19th 2017 in North America.
Also announced are several new characters to the MvC: I roster including Marvel characters Ultron, Hulk, Thor, Hawkeye, and Rocket Raccoon, and Capcom characters Chun-Li, Strider Hiryu and Chris Redfield. They join Marvel characters Captain Marvel, Iron Man, and Captain America, and Capcom characters Ryu, Mega Man X, and Morrigan. I am very glad Rocket will be making his debut (because he will be hilarious to play as), which isn’t surprising considering the success of the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise, and we have been promised more characters will be announced shortly.
See some of the newly announced characters in action in the latest released screenshots!
For those wishing to pre-order, Capcom have announced three (!) different editions.
The Standard Edition includes Warrior Thor and Evil Ryu costumes. The Deluxe Edition includes those also as well as a 2017 Character Pass, which includes access to six additional post-launch characters that include Sigma (from Mega Man X), as well as two additional costumes: Gladiator Hulk and Mega Man Command Mission X. Yep, this will be a DLC heavy game by the looks of it.
For all you hardcore fans, the Collector’s Edition (provided by TriForce) includes the aforementioned Deluxe Edition in a steel book, as well as character dioramas of Mega Man X, Chun-Li, Captain Marvel and Iron Man, and six Infinity Stone replicas (as opposed to real Infinity Stones).
Let’s hope all of these make their way to Australian retailers!
Now all of you who guessed that the villain of Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite was Ultra Sigma, take a bow! This bad guy is a combination of Ultron from the Marvel universe and Sigma from the Capcom universe. Check out the first story line trailer featuring Ultra Sigma below:
