Suit Up for Injustice 2

With great gear comes great ass-kickery. At least that’s what the new Injustice 2 battle mechanic trailer is leading us to believe.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment have released further details in relation to their gear system, which until now has only been teased in small bursts throughout trailers and promotional art.

Each character will have their own unique selection of armour to sort through and customise. As players battle on and level up they’ll be rewarded with new gear to use and more stat bonuses to bolster their fighting strength. Not only that, but through the use of battle gear new moves can be learned and equipped to your character. Battle gear also comes in collectable sets, so the more of one set you obtain and don, the more powerful that set shall become.

Now, while it’s certainly a welcome addition to what has to be one of my most anticipated fighters of 2017, my only concern is whether all the gear can be gained purely in-game, or will certain rare and more desirable gear sets be available only through online purchase? It would seem highly unfair to penalise those who spend a rather large sum purchasing the game, by then asking them to pay more for exclusives.

It’s clear that Injustice 2 are aiming high with this game release and have invested a lot into making a game that lives up to its predecessor. With each new trailer released, the hype train just gets bigger and bigger. Injustice 2 is set for release for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on the 17th of May 2017 in Australia and is already available for preorder, with bonus content available, including Darkseid as a playable fighter and additional character skins.
