Remember when Bethesda rejected a direct offer to make a Game of Thrones open world game? Well, you can put your disappointment to rest!
News has come, via Kotaku, of a massive Game of Thrones themed mod for Skyrim & Skyrim: Special Edition. The mod, titled Game of Thrones Adaptation, has been in beta testing since November last year. Creator Kualan suggests that just about “every character you would want to meet in the Seven Kingdoms” will be in-game, meaning plenty of opportunity to wreak havoc across Westeros.
Rather than just a swathe of Game of Thrones themed items, weapons, and armour, Game of Thrones Adaptation is a complete overhaul of the Skyrim world. This means new areas filled with new enemies and NPCs, and no doubt quests that match the epic storytelling of the HBO series itself. Kualan has also revealed that the three plot-central Dragons of Skyrim’s epic journey will be replaced with Drogon, Viserion, and Rhaegal, Daenerys Targaryen’s dragons from the show.
There is no confirmed release date for Game of Thrones Adaptation at this time, however Kualan regularly updates the mod’s webpage here.
